Lug nuts come in several types, each designed for specific wheel and vehicle applications. Here are the most common types:

Conical (Tapered) Lug Nuts
Shape: Cone-shaped seat with a 60-degree taper.
Common Use: Most standard vehicles, especially aftermarket wheels.
Benefits: Self-centering; widely used and available.

Mag (Flat Seat) Lug Nuts
Shape: Flat seating surface with a washer.
Common Use: OEM wheels on some American-made cars (e.g., GM and Chrysler).
Benefits: Provides a secure hold with a large contact area.

Ball (Radius) Lug Nuts
Shape: Rounded or spherical seat.

Extended Thread (ET) Lug Nuts
Shape: Similar to conical or ball seat nuts but with extended threads.

Benefits: Provides more thread engagement on the stud for secure fastening.

Open-End Lug Nuts
Shape: Similar to conical or mag lug nuts, but the end is open.
Common Use: Vehicles with extended wheel studs, such as racing applications.
Benefits: Allows longer studs to pass through, ensuring proper torque and fit.

Closed-End Lug Nuts
Shape: Closed on one end, covering the entire lug stud.
Common Use: Standard wheels for most vehicles.

Lug Bolts
Shape: Bolt and lug nut combined.
Common Use: Found on European vehicles such as BMW and Mercedes.
Benefits: Simplifies installation by combining both components.

Left-Hand Thread Lug Nuts
Shape: Threads in the opposite direction (left-hand) from typical nuts.
Common Use: Some older vehicles (Chrysler and Dodge) or heavy-duty applications.
Benefits: Prevents loosening due to wheel rotation.
